I just upgraded to gigablast. I have the panoramic wifi/modem but my internet speeds are now slower than 500mbps I was originally getting. Do I need to now upgrade my Panoramic Modem?
call cs, have them reset the modem, it will include updates you may be missing.
What updates? Firmware? If so, I don't think a reset updates the firmware. Where are you getting your data?
yes, updates to the modem/pano unit!! the unit i have has been replaced with the new/latest greatest pano unit.
how do you get the old unit close to the new in performance or if problems can be resolved with the firmware.
from cox tech support when i asked if reset i initiate from online/cox app is the same as when the rep initiates!!
you provide your own equipment, aren't aware of what goes on for folks like me, who've been dealing with cox equipment for a long time.
i respect your knowledge/experience but sometimes you make broad brushstrokes without knowing all the facts.

That is exactly what I am claiming you are doing. Resetting the modem doesn't "include updates". It's a SNMP transaction to reset the modem similar to doing it through the app.
it does when cox sends the refresh, whatever they call it.

Yes, your reset would be the same as a rep's reset. A network reset is like resetting the TCP/IP settings on your computer...you're just rewriting registry keys.
However, if I am to reset my TCP/IP settings, I would not want to update the drivers in my NIC at the same time. That's just silly.
