Installation

I recently got Cox Internet with the Self Install Kit.  I am using my own modem.  I called Cox to activate the modem.

After numerous tries the modem would not activate.  They did send out a technician to the house.  The only thing he did was call Cox and have them delete the existing information and then the modem was able to activate.  Now I am charged $55 for Professional Installation.

In my eyes the problem was on their side not mine.  Anybody had this experience?

Thanks

Cox duped you.  "Deleting existing information" is re-provisioning a modem.  Cox could have done this with you on the phone...for free.
