First and formost.. I have Gigablast. I only have a Router with a ONT and not a modem.
Your own forums cause conflicting information concerning firmware updates. one post says you don't do firmware others say you test and will push updates. I have yet to see a single firmware update since i have had the modem. this is going on over 2 years now. what is the deal?
Ugg, chat is horrible IMO. I would try calling and ask for the people who handle Gigablast FIBER. Important that it's fiber, because Gigablast is also the name of their different DOCSIS 3.1 service. You basically need to talk to the people who have access to the remote support/SSH login for your router to gain access to push the firmware through. That is assuming Cox has modified the new firmware and has a update to push to it. If nothing else, the people who are technically capable of doing it would know the latest firmware.
Tech support was useless. they haven't released a new version of the firmware. the firmware version i have is over 2 years old. I'm unable to load the firmware directly from Netgear as it fails most likely from a digital signature standpoint. As I haven't researched residential routers in many moon's do you have and suggestions? Might be time to buy one i can control

Smallnetbuilder is king when it comes to consumer router review. Currently number one is the Netgear R7800. The Asus RT-AC86U is also great I hear.
No i'm not experiencing issues of that nature. I'm more concerned with KRACK and other features of the Router which aren't working properly. DDNS throws a error so fast on the screen I can't capture it.
