Hello SavedMan. I know how frustrating it can be to have picture issues while trying to watch a recorded program. Is this issue occurring on more than one cable box in your home? The Contour system requires an update every 24 hours which you will receive prompts for if you are watching TV during the scheduled update time. If you or anyone in the home has happened to skip an update lately, I'd suggest unplugging the power cord for a few seconds and then plugging it back in for each impacted receiver. This will allow all updates to be completed. If you continue to experience issues while watching recordings, please let me know.
