Same thing is happening to me. I was watching an on-demand dox on Showtime...screen went black...Showtime dox temporarily returned onscreen...screen went black again...and the channel changed to previous one I was watching. It's either a switch-video channel or a Contour glitch.

Any update to this? Are you ignoring it? It's still occurring.

Well, in addition to my Showtime and the OP's premium channel and tubi, I'd induce this glitch involves a few channels.
Everything a-okay in the Cox VOD section? It's all hunkydory? Good to know.
