Unable to Fast Forward using Cox TV Remote with DVR

I unable to fast forward using the Cox TV remote with DVR 6. Also, unable to pause and rewind live TV.

    Have you tried powering off the DVR?  If that doesn't solve the problem, try replacing the batteries in the remote.

      I will try that...I have had to turn it off and on several times for other issues and the system is only 5 days old.
