Do you have a surround sound system hooked up to your TV or just using the built in speakers on your TV? If you are using the built in speaks, have you checked the settings for you TV to make sure that it is setup for surround sound. Most TVs only have two speaks & may not be able to produce 5.1 sound.

I should have mentioned that the sound issues also occur with my LG sound bar. The LG sound bar I have utilizes Dolby Atmos and 5.1 surround sound. The sound bar is connected to the TV through the HDMI ARC port.
