How to Get On Demand Viewing with Samsung QLED TV?

We set up our new Samsung TV, which pairs the Samsung remote to work universally across everything.  Because of that, our Cox remote no longer works.  We can't find a way to access Cox TV on Demand Shows. Such as, The Goldbergs.  It shows we have to get it through Hulu or whatever, and never does a Cox sow up. We aren't able to access it like before.  This is the same with any show we try.  None of them come up.  All have to be through some other provider. What is up with this?  How do we resolve it?

What can your Cox remote do?  For example...can it power-on the cable-box, can it display live network programs, can it display the live-TV program-guide, can it change channels, adjust volume on TV, etc?

I'm trying to understand your scenario.  For example, while you're watching live TV through the cable-box, you can no longer access the Cox on-demand menu?  Is that correct?  You're watching Cox programming and the on-demand button no longer works?

What says you have to go through another provider, such as Hulu...the Samsung?

  • Hi Dolce, it sounds as if the TV is forcing you to use the Samsung interface rather than the Cox on-screen Guide. The Samsung remote should be paired with the TV. The Cox remote should be paired with the Contour 2 receiver. First, make sure that your TV is powered on and set to the input for the Contour 2 receiver. Also, ensure there is a direct line-of-sight between the remote and the Contour 2 receiver. Follow the "Clear Programming" steps displayed in the article at www.cox.com/.../pairing-or-unpairing-the-contour-2-remote.html. Then, follow the steps to pair the remote with the receiver. This should allow you to access the on-screen Guide (by pressing the remote Guide button) as well as the On Demand menu (press the Contour button on the remote, navigate to On Demand, and then press OK). Please let us know if this successfully restores the functions of the Cox remote. -Becky, Cox Support Forums Moderator
