How do I stop the background "voice commentary" during programs like NCIS? I contacted my TV mfg and they think it's a cable box setting.

Only recently we started having a background voice commentary during shows like NCIS. I can't find a way to stop it via my tv settings. The manufacturer says it is a cable company issue.

  • Hi Home Tech, it sounds like the setting for Descriptive Video Service has been enabled. (Go to www.cox.com/.../learn-about-video-description-service.html to learn more.) Video description service is enabled via the SAP audio setting (Secondary Audio Programming). To disable SAP, press the COX/MENU button on the mini box remote control. Use the up or down arrow to highlight Settings and then press Select. Highlight Language Options and press Select. Highlight Audio Language, and then press the RIGHT arrow or SELECT button. Highlight Primary (English) and press Select. Press the LEFT arrow to return to the Language Options Menu or press EXIT to return to live television. Please let us know if this works to stop the video description audio track. -Becky, Cox Support Forums Moderator
