When you setup a recording, there should be a Resolution setting on the Setup screen. If this is a recurring recording (series), what's recorded is already recorded; however, you can edit the Resolution setting on its schedule.
If you're not seeing the Resolution setting, run the Quick Setup wizard to establish the audio and video capabilities of your TV.
