Recordings being deleted overnight is a known issue that's been happening with Contour DVRs for at least 5 years. What brand and model DVR did get when the Arris DVR was replaced?
ARRIS Model AX013ANC

It was replaced May 7, 2025 by Cox subcontractor Down 2 Earth. The tech couldn't get it to work. He opened a ticket with Cox. It was brought on line the next day. Since then, my recordings get automatically deleted over night.

I left a message with a Cox tech. I did not hear back. I called the local Cox store. The rep told me there must be a problem with the harddrive and to bring it in for replacement.
I should note, that when my original DVR failed in May, I was mailed a replacement DVR. It was used so I rejected it and drove 40 miles to have the "used replacement" replaced with what I was told was a "new" unit. So the "new" DVR now has a defective harddrive. I'll drive another 40 miles again to replace the replacement DVR for my original DVR.
If Cox wasn't the monopoly on cable TV, I'd drop them in a nanosecond. Aren't there laws against monopolies? The Cox family are billionaires and was just acquired by Charter Communications. I hear Charter's customer service has a reputation that may be worse than Cox. I guess synchronous TV is destined to go the way of the dino, dodo, and PCM telephony all in the interest of the bottom line NOT quality.
