DVR Contour Freezes

my contour dvr freezes at times, then blanks & resets.  it is happening every couple  of hours.  If I need a box change, can all my recordings be transferred to the new box?  I have a lot of stuff.

  • Hi Mikemt98, your DVR isn't communicating correctly with the Cox network, so I'm unable to retrieve diagnostics from the DVR. I recommend that we schedule a service call so an on-site technician can ensure there isn't a problem with the signal to the DVR. DVR recordings and settings are stored on the DVR hard drive, not a cloud server. If the tech determines that the DVR needs to be exchanged for another device, there is no way to transfer recordings from your current DVR to a different DVR. I'm sorry!
