Does Roku TV recognize the Mini Box? What are your HDMI options?
This shouldn't be difficult so unless the Mini Box hasn't finished booting/initializing, you may have a defective Mini Box.

HDMI is all about copy-right protection. Big Media doesn't want you recording their garbage, so HDMI was designed to negotiate with connected equipment. "Are you a recording device?" [No.]
There are permissions and keys associated with this negotiation and your Mini Box probably thinks it's still connected to a Sharp. A reboot will force a negotiation with your Roku TV..
