Volume Issue from Slave/Mini Box
Hello! We've been having an issue with our Volume for about 1-2 months now. It's not a major issue and it's easily fixed by simply changing the channel then turning it back to the channel we were currently watching. Don't get me wrong, it's highly annoying, specially if we've paused the program and have to change the channel to get the volume back, given we lose where we were at during the TV Show/Movie if it's something that's not been recorded... So far we've tried: -Tightening all the cables -Replaced all cables -Reset SAP(why not) -Reset Cable Boxes and Modem(thru cox.com & by unplugging, waiting 10 seconds, plugging back in) This issue is 100% random and our boxes aren't old at all... I think we changed them out within the last 6 months. Sometimes we might go a week without any issues, sometimes we have to change the channel and turn it back to get the sound back 3-4 times during one 30 minute TV show. Also I do not believe we've ever had the volume issue while using the Cox Receiver when using the streaming services like Netflix, HBO Max, Hulu, ect. Also, it is only an issue with 2 of 3 our Cox Receivers. This might be useless information, but receiver closest to our Panoramic Modem seems to be the receiver that this happens the most often to and the receiver is about 10ft away from the modem. The other receiver that loses volume is about 20-25ft from the modem. But the fix for both TV's are the same, change the change and pow, volumes back! I figured I'd post this issue here in case anyone else is having the same issue and Support has a way to fix this issue without having to call in to Cox to get this corrected. Hello Geniuses, We have a Cisco DTA 250HD mini box connect at work. It had an IR sensor plugged into it through the IR IN port that got smashed. We operated it through a URC-4220-RF remote control. A co-worker bought another IR sensor, and it did not fix the problem. Looking to get feedback on better options to getting it running again. Is the remote old, and does it need replacing? What IR sensor models seem are compatible with both the mini box and remotes? No chance of having a tech out, because it is paid for by the company, and would result in them just remembering they pay for service, and most likely cancelling it. Okay, over the past week or so, we've been having a handful of issues...Randomly we'll have our audio just cut out. Maybe for 1 to 5 seconds or sometimes I have to change the channel and change it right back and it instantly fixes it. This only happens while watching one the contour box.(just a note for later). Also, for about the same amount of time, all of our streaming services when attempting to watch thru the contour boxes would lose sound with light lag./freezes here and there. This has been getting worse and worse as time goes on. As of tonight, all our streaming services are lagging and freezing so bad, they have been deemed unwatchable on the contour boxes.... But on the upside I know this issue is one cox's side. I switch over to the Apps in my 70 inch Samsung and all Streaming services work flawlessly. I literally forgot streaming could load this fast! I have unlimited data and get 580mb/s download 10mb/s upload, So speeds and usage isn't an issue. If a mod or anyone else might have an idea how to fix the streaming services on contours side, please, I'm totally up for suggestions. I've done everything from resetting all the boxes, one at a time by inplugging, reset the boxes all at once on Cox's. Also the same with the modem unplugged waited 30 seconds plugged back in(blah blah blah) and reset thru the cox app. I've also done a hard reset on the modem.1.8KViews0likes2CommentsCannot program mini-box remote to brand new RCA tv...
I've tried both the auto search method detailed on the back of the remote and the code entry method (using all the RCA codes listed on the Cox website)...to no avail. When I tried the auto method, I held Select for over five minutes yet the tv never powered off. Any insight? Can it take longer to find the code?852Views0likes4CommentsSound and picture problems
Sound cuts out for a couple seconds, picture gets pixel blotches. Problem is now on both of my TV's. It's so bad that I can't watch the program. I reset the box every 3 - 4 days, that helps for an hour or 2. I've been a cox customer for 16 years, up to a year ago my cable was flawless. It seems their total solution is to reset the box. I'm being charged big bucks for inferior service. They know there is a problem but lack the balls to admit it and the intelligence to fix it.2.2KViews0likes7Comments
