Vandt00, using IMAP configuration syncs your inbox across devices so that the contents of the mailbox will be the same no matter which device you are using to view your mail. This prevents the old problem of trying to figure out which device downloaded a particular message and helps you better maintain your mailbox all around. There is no option to leave a copy on the server since everything is synced. The option to leave a copy of messages on the server is part of the advanced settings when using POP.
