well this is a rather old post. am having same issue. done internet request reset .disconnect also reset button. still happens about twice a day.

I was having intermittent Internet problems with my 3402 before it finally became inoperable.  You could try freely swapping it at your Cox Solution Store.  Don't cost except $60 in gas.
