Hmm, I would rather see it go 2 way splitter > 1 side to modem
1 side to amp > 3 way splitter > TVs.
I would give it a day to see if the network interruption goes away. It may not be relevant though. Are you able/wanting to move your splitters and amp around or do you want to leave that to a technician? The bad part of leaving it to a tech is the possible charge.
Well, the network interruption banner on the account page is now gone. It could not have been up very long since I have been to my account page several times this afternoon and it always said the network was fine.
Just did Speed Test and getting 284/11 down/up. Ping and jitter are much lower. So, it appears to be "fixed" (for now).
A number of years ago I had a split before the modem and amp driving other splits (just like you suggested above) but at some point the signal became too low. Not sure why the signal level coming in became so low.
Thanks for all of your help!

Didn't know it should be +5 off the tap, mine has got to be much lower (probably lower than -5). I bet it is being split. How would I convince Cox to send someone to take a look at this?

At some point I would have a technician out to investigate the signal coming from your tap at the pole. I seem to remember the signal coming off the tap should be +5dB at least. I wonder if your tap is being split to serve two customers. If so, the tap should be replaced with a higher port one to accommodate the other customers.

Same way you got the last technician. If calling gives you trouble, try emailing Cox at cox.help@cox.com with your account info, a link to this thread, and request a technician to look at your tap. If you want to do it yourself, you could take a picture of your tap with a phone that has decent zoom. That's assuming you have above ground wiring.
