We are having the EXACT same issue! I was on the 500MB plan forever and never had any issues. We play competitive online video games and have always been super satisfied with our connection and stability. However, we upgraded to the 1G plan and were sent the new router model and now it's SO bad. Packet loss is so bad we can't play anymore, and it's starting to affect me being able to do my actual job when I'm working from home. We had a technician come out today and supposedly fix something, but it didn't help... I guess we just go back to 500MB and ask for our old router back?? At a loss...

What modem/router are you using. Are connected via WiFi or Ethernet? Can you access your modem and pull your signal levels, and connected channels? (Usually 192.168.100.1).
