Unable to send Cox email after security update

We are able to receive but not send Cox email after the security upgrade. Instructions were followed. I have been on Chat with Cox tech support (they told me to log off Chat and wait an hour and try ...

change your password for email. Then go into outlook settings and change to new password wait a few minutes and it should work.  I have outlook 2013 I changed my password and I was able to send email after that.  Give it a try
