Once you used the app, did you have to turn off Advanced Security and then add a port forward?

Nope, I could add it right after downloading the app. I think it's giving me issues now with the ports traffic, but didn't stop its creation.
Also want to go on record and say devs fixed the site (at least on my end)! It's noticeably faster i think, and any real issue I had is gone. So very awesome to see from them!
