Good morning Kevin..............What is a blacklist? How does an email address become "blacklisted? What is it that my email address supposedly did after 23 years. Why have I not been contacted with direct information regarding the situation. Why do I receive a "Suspicious Activity" notice every few days when (as you say) my email is on a "Blacklist."..................Keven, none of this makes any sense to this "senior citizen" who is being seemingly punished for something he has absolutely no idea of what it was that he was supposed to have done. When you say..." When we receive additional information, we will follow up with you." What exactly are you talking about? What kind of information? From whom? Involving what? And HOW will you "FOLLOW UP" with me? Respectfully, I do think COX owes me a complete explanation for tis situation.

Since I could not get any information from COX I went to do some of my own research. I found several locations that explains "Blacklisting" in tech terms. What I did find on all of them when I tested my sending ISP......is shown below. Can anyone explain all this gibberish to me? From the FAQs on the sites etc, it "sounds " like somehow my email showed up on a Russian site suspected of spam operations. (have no idea how that could have happened as my password was close to impossible to crack. Further reading suggested that it was all but impossible to get an address off these sites once they were put on it...............So now COX, I have done what Possibly you should have done to help inform me. That said.....What happens now?????
- KevinM26 years agoFormer ModeratorHi Bird Dog, as you've indicated previously that you have sent two requests to "unblockrequest@cox.net" to have your IP unblocked, this indicates that your IP Address is more than likely listed on a blacklist somewhere. In order to provide additional information regarding this escalation, can you please reach us on Twitter at @CoxHelp, visit us on Facebook, or at cox.help@cox.com? For security reasons, we will need to obtain additional information from you. -Kevin M. Cox Support Forum Moderator

Kevin.........Pardon my ignorance and lack of appreciation for the merits of "Social Media". But, as mentioned I am a senior citizen who does not Twitter nor do I Face Book.........I have sent an email (of course from another server) to cox.help@cox.com. If that is even answered I wonder how many more times I will have re-explain the whole mess.............Here we gooooooooo again, transfer after transfer right into oblivion

KEVIN,
Good morning. Thank you for the link. Extremely interesting "read". Some of it "went over my head" but the essence of it I understood. It still remains a mystery to me as to who and how my primary email address was hijacked. But moreover, I am just as puzzled as to why so much of my mail is marked as SPAM. Particularly, those emails from locations that I have been receiving emails from for years. As for me sending out mass mailings......never has happened. At most I may have "responded to all" in an email that went to members of a hunting dog club hat I am a member of. Probably at most maybe 30 - 50 members. Again, thanks for the link and still oping this gt resolved
- CrystalS6 years agoFormer ModeratorHello Bird Dog,
When you reply to all on a group email. That can be seen as spam due to the number of contacts in the email. Please reach out to us at Cox.help@cox.com for any updates you would like on the issue. -Crystal Cox Support Forum Moderator

Good morning Crystal,
I have been over on cox.help@cox.com for over a week without resolution. This morning I did run two malware detection programs on my laptop. For the first time two programs surfaced that may have been the source of the problems. Both programs were deleted and my system was cleaned and rechecked. As of this moment my system is completely clean. I will now change my password for the 17th time in three weeks and cross my fingers that the issue can now be resolved........
