Spam bot

On Wednesday a spam bot got my email off the intenet and put my name in the return to position.   I recieved 70 undeliverable messages.   I scanned my pc for viruses and it said I had none.   Is there anything you can do to stop a spam bot from using your email to send out spam?   I even reinstalled windows just to be 100 percent sure.     Has that happened to anybody else?  Stupid people were actually trying to reply to me.  I blocked them all.

Yes I have the same problem but I don't think there is any way to stop this other than changing your email address.

I had somebody emailing me to stop or they will report me, etc.   They don't realize it's not me doing it.    It comes  from somebody's machine probably on the other side of the country, or if that.

I had to change my email address as that was the only solution.

Unfortunately if the spambot is using a misconfigured mail server, and it inputting your email address as the from address and is able to send it, there is nothing you can do.
