Spam becoming a problem again

For the last couple of months, the amount of spam and phishing emails I receive has finally settled down.  All of a sudden, I have seen a MAJOR influx of phishing emails supposedly from Discover and AMEX with the usual suspicious activity or password reset.  Seeing I don’t have either card, I know these are fraudulent.  However, it seems that they have now hijacked not only the name field, but they’ve found a way to manipulate the email domain in the from field to make it look like it’s from discover.com or Amex.com.  Many of them also come from inbox@inbox.com.  Just annoying that this issue that seemed resolved has reared its ugly head again.  I find myself sending at least 2 or 2 a day to phishingreport@cox.net

  • what i find annoying/funny is that by the time i get them, cox has figured it out. and they won't let me send them because....well....they're spam, right!?

you are lucky.  the phishing never slowed down for me.
