Hey Melissa, we have also been experiencing incredibly slow speeds here in our neighborhood. We live near Warm Springs and Eastern across from Sunset Park. There’s been a lot of utility work going on in our area also. I’ve called Cox, only to be told it’s our modem and then to be offered an upgrade on speeds. Which was fine because it’s the same price we were paying. But no one at Cox wants to admit they have a problem. I’ve spoken with 6 of my neighbors who also have Cox internet, they have also called and received similar responses. I’m planning on calling Cox today and requesting a manager. I don’t think the issue is anyone’s modem, I believe it’s a street connection issue and possibly Cox is unaware of the situation.
it sounds like the whole vegas valley is oversubscribed.

wow, do you know what i would do to get those speeds right now? no for sure, you are also not getting what you are paying for. i have a feeling that alot of us are not getting what were paying for. how long have you had gigablast?

Im here in Henderson with Gigablast intermnet...getting 9-15 mb/s download speeds. Tech came in and blamed my house wiring and told me to purchase complete care and pay to have my wires replaced. I wasn't buying it. I had her take my modem and plug it in outside the house where the tap comes direct from the street. Guess what....still 12 mb/s download.
Replaced my router, plugged into street tap...12 mb/s download....30 upload (has always been fine)
Tech said i needed my line from street to home replaced. Next day they replaced the line and my speed stayed the same. I had about 30 minutes of 350mb download then back to 9mb.
Called COX AGAIN!!!! They said i needed a tech to come out and ask for higher tier support to check substations etc. because they cant request it over the phone. tried to tell me I needed to pay another $75 for a tech to come out. Still waiting for tech to come out tomorrow to tell me they have no idea what it is. I have had this internet for 4 months and it has NEVER been good.
Wish we had other decent options out here because their customer support is trash. I spend more time on the phone trying to fix my internet than I do getting my work done at home.

yeah i am really starting to thing we might need to band together and start another option out here for internet. People are doing it all over the world for super cheap. This *** is absurd.

I work from home and literally cant do my work. Lets add to the fact that I pay for streaming TV through their wireless box and cannot even stream cable
