Self install gone wrong

I followed the instructions in the package. Could not connect. Reset. Connected for two days on my laptop only, then cut off. Kept asking for a login. Couldn't login in. Had to find the actual username and password online because apparently that didn't need to be included. Still couldn't get internet despite readings showing signal was at full strength. Then I foolishly tried bridge mode without knowing what it was and now I can't even see the network. I realize now that was the exact wrong thing to do. Multiple reboots (website and from the device) didn't work. Factory reset (from the website) didn't work. Ethernet doesn't work. My Wifi waffles between saying I'm connected and that I'm not connected. I am not the most techy person, but surely it shouldn't be this difficult. Live Chat was a bust. I figure the customers will be much more knowledgeable. Can someone please help?
