SB8200

Purchased a Arris SB8200 to replace my existing router/modem.  State that the 8200 is single band.  With a dual band router will it only transmit in one band?

    The Arris SB8200 is not a wifi/modem combo, it is just a standalone modem. It does not have any type of wifi built-in. You would need to purchase a separate wireless router to plug into the SB8200, which would then provide a dual band connection if the router has the capability.

    That's what I though, but when I chatted with Cox support he made told me it was only a single band and would not broadcast in duel band.. Thanks
