By the way, I seem to be makng the most headway by going to Sent Objects and choosing Select All. Then deleting via Trash Can, then emptying trash, again by using Trash Can Icon. I got it down to 1.5 out of 2. It will eventually repopulate, but it takes longer!

Can someone on your end empty the Sent Objects folder for me? This is taking awhile!

I deleted my Cox account from Outlook for mac and the problem seems to have stopped. I still have 40K plus emails in Sent Objects, but I have not had any new ones added since deleting from all OUtlook computers. Would Mail cause the aame problem? I still have my cox account on my phone, so that seems to be not causing it.
- Becky6 years agoModeratorHi Hermione, I think I might have a way to completely empty your Sent Objects folder. Log in to Webmail. In the upper right-hand corner, click on the gear icon and select Settings. On the left-hand side of the page, click on Inbox to display the Inbox Settings. Underneath the "Common" section heading, place a check mark in the box next to "Permanently remove deleted emails." Instead of sending deleted items to the Trash folder, this setting allows you to immediately and permanently delete items. Now, from the blue menu bar at the top of the page, click Inbox. From the Folder list on the left-hand side of the page, click "Sent Objects." The "hamburger" icon (menu) of 3 horizontal lines will display next to the Sent Objects folder name. Click the menu icon and choose "Delete all messages." A confirmation window with the question "Do you really want to empty folder Sent Objects?" will display. Click the "Empty Folder" button. This may take several minutes. You should eventually receive another confirmation that all messages have been deleted. (If you get any error messages at this point, please let me know.) Refresh the Sent Objects folder. Does it display the word "Empty"? If you prefer not to permanently delete items without first sending them to the Trash folder, you can go back to Settings and remove the check mark from the "Permanently remove deleted emails" option. I don't understand why the emails continue to populate the Sent Objects folder even after you've deleted them, so I'm hopeful that these steps will prevent that from happening. -Becky, Cox Support Forums Moderator
