When I add a channel to my Favorites list, it shows up multiple times in the guide. For instance, ESPN shows up as channel 1025 and 1300. What can I do so that a channel only shows up one time within the guide? Is there also a way to only display all channels I have a subscription for?

netgrocery, Cox is working on a Genre-Based Channel Lineup Trial in certain markets. You will find some channels to have duplicate channel numbers, there are no changes to the subscriptions as a result of this new lineup. You have a choice to set up the way to view the guide, and favorites, or by an individual. You can go into settings, labs, default guide view, and have the option to select the available or preferred guide setting. If you save an HD channel number to your favorites, this may help narrow down the search.

I've already changed the preferred guide settings to show favorites. I don't have the option under default guide view to show available, just all, HD, favorites, and some categories. I'd still like to know if there is a way to only add one instance of a channel to my favorites list. It's really annoying that when I try to add a single channel I get 4 instances of that one channel. Is anyone else having this issue? If I'm part of some trial that I'm unaware of, please remove me because I'm starting to miss Dish.

Hi Renee, I'm adding channels to Favorites by opening the HD Channels guide, selecting the channel itself by moving all the way to the left, hit OK on the remote, and then selecting Favorite.

This isn't an exhaustive list, but here are some that show up multiple times on the guide:

Starz Encore Action (507, 1507)
Starz Encore Westerns (511, 1511)
FXM (533, 1533)
PBS (1011, 1086)
ESPN (1025, 1300)
ESPN2 (1026, 1301)
A&E (1028, 1102)
TNT (1029, 1103)
USA (1034, 1101)
FXHD (1035, 1108)
Freeform (1037, 1253)
Syfy (1045, 1111)
TBS (1047, 1104)
AMC (1048, 1105)

Again, that's not all of them, just some examples. I would say more than 50% show up twice.

Please check your Auto Tune to HD setting and make sure it's turned off. The Auto Tune to HD feature will automatically mark all channels for the listing you select.

Hi Stephanie,

I tried turning off Auto Tune to HD and it didn't fix the issue. Its not that I'm seeing both the HD and SD versions in my Favorites, but that I'm seeing duplicate HD channels.

The forum image upload tool is not working for me. The following link shows some pictures I took that show a few duplicate channels. I also have a couple screenshots from the Contour 2 iPhone app that shows the same channel lineup.
