Duplicate emails

When I use Outlook or Android email, any messages received from the Cox email server are duplicated. I have made NO changes to either email application AND messages received from the GMAIL server are not duplicated.

What is going on?

  • Hi, please check both applications as well as your Web Mail preferences to see if anything has changed. Here is a link to our web site for how-to setup Web Mail for Outlook: http://bit.ly/1LvB3I2 and for Android: http://bit.ly/2smgztA In Web Mail check under Settings > Mail Managment.

I checked. Nothing has changed. The problem does not appear in the Webmail interface.

No changes, Michael. And the problem ONLY occurs when using products like MS Outlook or Android email app.

    Please advise.

When you login to Webmail, do you still see those same messages in the Inbox? Have you tried to move them to a different folder or delete them from the Inbox?

When I log into the webmail interface, messages have already been duplicated. This is new behavior since Cox made changes to the email system. I should not have to manually remove the duplicates.

    Please advise.

This is a known issue with webmail. Please delete any duplicate emails manually and remove pre-existing inbox filters or rules. Once the filers or rules have been removed, you will need to re-add them back to the new email platform to eliminate duplicates going forward. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

I have done as you suggested. I will have to wait to see if that cures the problem, but this is a HUGE inconvenience.
