Port Forwarding and Ubuntu

I have the Cox Panoramic Wifi modem and the Cox wifi app.

I have several devices (windows, android, iphone, ipad, alarm, irobot, cameras, etc) that show up in both the gateway and in the app.

My ubuntu devices show up in the gateway but NOT in the app.

I have set up port forwarding in the app for my windows device for the functions that i need it for.

however, i need to set up port forwarding for my ubuntu server. it shows up in the gateway as a connected device and i am able to reserve its ip. however, when i go to the app to try and set up port forwarding for the ubuntu server, it does not show up as an option. ALL my other devices show up as an option except for my ubuntu devices.

tried calling the help desk today, who escalated me to the advanced support, who escalated me to another team, and none of them were able to help.

Seriously, it was so much easier BEFORE the app, when you could just go into the gateway and do it, as it just worked without issues.

so i need to know a way to help ubuntu show up as an option in the port forwarding please.

  • Hello. Do the Ubuntu devices show up in the app at all and are you able to create a profile for them?
