The Arris TG1682 is compatible on the Cox network.
Your Arris TG1682 is not compatible. Why?
Where'd you get it?
I but in a second hand store. I can not understand why it’s not compatible.

The TG1682 is compatible. Your TG1682 is not compatible because you bought it at a second-hand store. How'd the TG1682 get into the second-hand store?
The TG1682 has a telephone modem. Cox controls, issues and accounts for all telephone modems authorized on their network. Meaning, only Cox can issue an authorized telephone modem on their network.
Cox issued your TG1682 to somebody. This somebody didn't return this TG1682 to Cox. This somebody either sold it to the second-hand store or somebody stole it from a customer.
Since Cox can no longer account for this telephone modem Cox blacklisted your modem.
If you want an authorized telephone modem, Cox must issue it to you.

this modem it’s not with Cox Brand. It’s from other operator. I can understand this model it’s only for rental or internal use. But in this case this router cannot appear like compatible. Or put a big label in the web “You can not put this modem”
Because some stupid user, like me, can trust in cox web and buy this paperweight.
now I buy another device, I’m waiting to receive it. But I cannot be sure this device works... because COX don provide a reliable list of compatible devices.
It’s the only internet option in my location, this it’s what it is. But for sure, Cox have one of the worst service I see in my life. It’s not only expensive, it’s not only slow... is that they mistreat and abuse their costumers.

The Internet-side of the modem should work. You should get Internet connectivity but no telephone service. Unless somebody installed an unauthorized firmware onto the DOCSIS or the modem is actually defective.
