New service

I have a new home and need to have service connected from the pole to the house.  The house that was in this property prior to my purchase was destroyed.  I understand that the line from the pole to the house is the property of Cox cable.  What I don’t understand is why they want to charge me $100.00 to hook up the service.  I have had new houses in the past and have never been charged.  Elecricric from pole to home is not charged.  Why is this my responsibility when it is owned by Cox?

Yeah, that doesn't seem right, charging to install a line to the house. Appeal to them directly instead of on this forum.
