Loss of internet connection every 10hrs or so

I've been having issue with Cox wifi since 5 days ago. My modem indicates that there's no connection (the globe image isnt on). So I did the unplug/plug back in but still didnt work. But what I've discovered, if I unplug my modem and router for at least 12 hrs, my internet will work again when I turn them back on. 
Is it possible that my modem or router is overheated and thats why my connection is dead after a few hours? Should I replace modem or router?

    First, what is the make and model of your cable modem?

    Second, post your modem's signal levels here for review. To capture your modem's signal levels, review the manufacturer manual for your modem.
