KevinM2...you say the user has "intermittent packet loss"...could you tell us what you use to determine this. Is it from a CMD line, or PingPlotter or is it an internal COX tool, that we have no access to. I always see the Cox moderators tell user about signal levels and packet loss. I have myself logged on to my modem and yes, I see power values that I'm told are slightly outside perfect ranges. I have moved the modem infront of the splitter, and have noticed an improvement. HOWEVER, my COx speedtest Uploads values still remained at 5-6Mbps....had 10-11 2 wks ago. I too see better uploads to servers across the country than to my local OC Server.
I have used ping -n 50 cox.com and see No packet loss, however, when I run PingPlotter to cox.com....I see packet loss to hop #6 or 30% or so. Cox keeps saying its the modem power signals and probably my splitter, and doesn't address the Hop#6.
So, you determine the user has packet loss that is part of his problem. I'm asking how you determine this and what Cmd or tool you use. Do you use Ping to his IP or something else to get %PLoss?
