I'm not being prompted fro username and password when I connect to cox anywhere wifi

I have an older tablet PC. It sees the COXWiFi and it connects but the browser (older firefox) never pops up the username and password prompt. I have an IP address assigned to my wireless card but I can not browse the web. I tried this on my android device and that worked fine.

Any assistance as to why the intel tablet with MS windows not prompting for that username and password so I can get COX wifi anywhere on the tablet ?

    Does any other network-dependent app...such as a third-party email client...connect?

    I don't know why Firefox would prompt you to log into a network if your NIC is already connected.  What happens if you try to connect to a website?  Do you get errors, such as Server not found or Unable to connect?

        If you double-click the Network icon in the Task Bar, do you get IP addresses for DNS?
