smrarNew Contributor2 years agoI was told that I need to use a Cox ONT modem to be able to use Ultimate 500 Fiber.I'm in San Diego and he said I'm a fiber address and I can only use a modem provided by Cox. He said the modem is free with no rental fee.

A DOCSIS modem is for coaxial cable and an ONT (Optical Network Terminal) is for fiber optic cable.
