What modem are you using? Can you connect your computer direct to the modem? Just because everything is new, doesn't mean your equipment is setup correctly, or working properly. How about some further info?
My computer, modem and router are all set up the way the cox tech guy said to set them up. They don't know why my internet is so slow.

We're not questioning your setup. However, I will question why you're not providing the information we're requesting.

I appreciate you're trying to be helpful. But, you can question whatever you want. My setup and equipment is per the Cox technicians. Cox can't even explain why my internet is so crappy.

Well, you are in a technical chat forum, and the purpose is to help others, if you're not looking for help, you're in the wrong place. If you ARE looking for assistance, then let's start with, What kind of modem and router do you have, and have you tried connecting your computer direct to the modem via ethernet?

Hi HLH, so that we can take a look at your current internet speeds on the Cox network, please log into www.cox.com and then run the speed test at www.cox.com/speedtest several times. Be sure to run the test using a device connected to your computer with an ethernet cord. -Becky, Cox Support Forums Moderator

What kind of modem, what router? Have you tried connecting your computer direct to the modem, and restarting the modem? A lot of times, the router is the culprit.
