How to get rid of email notifications?

When I go to settings and UNCHECK all of the Notification checkboxes they come back checked again when I recheck those settings. Yikes I DO NOT WANT thousands of emails in my inbox...

    Unsubscibing from the Apps, Internet and Internet forums did the trick. Thanks...

Seems like users don't actually have permission to change settings... I may have gotten around the issue by simply unsubscribing from each forum I've joined but we'll see where that goes- including the possibility that everything gets reset to default when work is done on these forums.  There's an apparent mind set with the tech community in general;  "we know better than you what you want so your choices are irrelevant".
