Highlighted message on my primary email acct. It says "email verification pending"

Hi, I have a highlighted message on my primary email acct. It says, "email verification pending".  It's been like that for about 10 months now.  I called to get the issue resolved and was assured that the problem would clear up in 2 days.  That was over 3 months ago.  How do I get my primary email acct verified???
