Same with me. Ping was low and packet loss was zero before Cox switched me to 150. Now I get higher ping and constant packet loss. Jitter with the first few hops on Cox's network is terrible. I wish I had another choice in ISP around here that offered the same speed/price. You get what you pay for, I guess.
A tech came out two weeks ago and we removed the old cable and splitters. There are no splitters at all. I'm running straight to the cox box. The tech did put a pad on the end of the cable, though, because he said it was too hot. There is a coupler connecting the house line to the cox cable box, too.
- Hello Stickboy2. The new modem is also reporting poor signals and packet loss. I recommend having a tech come out and take a look. Please send us an email with your full name, address, and a link to this thread so we can get the appointment scheduled for you. Thanks. -Allan Cox Support Forums Moderator
already had a tech come out, replaced all lines under house and he tested all signals and he said everything was good. Everything is golden on the downstream, I get no packet loss at all and SNR is good along with all power levels. The problem is the upstream which appears to be an issue with the cox network. I'm done. No assistance needed.
