error 504 when trying to save channel change update

Question

Because my internet appears to be lagging, did some light research and was attempting to update my channel setting for 2.4ghz. receiving the error 504 after attempting to save this change multi times. Connections are good, have rebooted modem....nothing works. Can anyone help? Worked with rep on chat who just provided me with steps I had already taken. Then stated I need service call to have it checked out. Not sure why, service and equipment ARE BRAND NEW. Suggestions?

Hi Mswitz75, where were you trying to change the channel setting? You can modify your WiFi channel settings by logging into your Cox account and following the steps per the Cox Support article at www.cox.com/.../managing-your-in-home-network-with-my-wifi.html. -Becky, Cox Support Forums Moderator

Hi and thx for responding....yes I attempt to make this change in the same link that you have provided and am still receiving this error when saving: &nbsp;Error 504 :We were unable to save your changes to the Advanced Settings of 2.4GHz Primary. Please try again.
i am going to attempt to make this change with the other instructions from the other posted reply below and will update all with results.
