Email on iPhone

I now get a message on my iPhone email that says imap.cox.net is not responding.  Please verify that you have entered the correct account info into the mail settings 

now I can’t send or receive even though, with the same settings, it hasn’t been a problem in the past

    Numerous issue can prevent connectivity to the IMAP mail server one of the most common causes is the settings or password changing. You can check settings on iphone to make sure they match at www.cox.com/.../imap-server-settings.html
    restarting device or updating password may also help. If possible please verify that you can access your webmail at https://myemail.cox.net.
