This will cause bandwidth problems because a lot more people in your neighborhood will be accessing the internet. I have been dealing with these problems since September 2019 and have replaced my modem with 4 different ones and no change.Had 5 techs out and all cabling replaced from modem to tap. Filled an FCC complaint and they admitted there was node issues and no plan on fixing this year. Although I don't care about speed I care about stable internet without latency spikes which also happens with oversaturated nodes. Re: High latency and packet loss in OC country (CA) Filed a FCC complaint and they told me they weren't planning on fixing it this year.Best of luck Re: COVID-19, Slow Speeds, and Why You Are Paying Full Price for Them! Same here Re: Finally admitting they screwed up Took them long enough, I wonder if they will upgrade their infrastructure my problems started before this whole ordeal... Re: Bad latency and packet loss with cable connection during pandemic. Would DSL be an improvement? I would recommend filling a FCC complaint:https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/articles/115002206106-Internet-Complaints DSL should have more stable ping but may be higher overall, Cox is hybrid fiber coax where they have fiber to a node and then coax from the node to houses(this is cheaper than actual fiber and can have a lot of problems when they over saturate nodes). This whole situation wouldn't of happened if Cox didn't oversell packages on the insufficient infrastructure. Re: Packet loss with WinMTR Please file a FFC complaint it's the only thing we can do:https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/articles/115002206106-Internet-Complaints Re: Get your *** together COX ^ Re: Customer Service? After the tech comes and says everything is fine on their end(most likely lying because it's an overstaurated node), file a FCC complaint. It's the only way someone higher up will care to talk to you. Re: Corona virus lower speed ? Exactly Re: I am unable to play any online video games with Gigablast. Google fiber is actual fiber internet unlike Cox's hybrid fiber coax where they have fiber to a node and then coax from the node to neighborhood houses(hybrid fiber coax is cheaper and can have a lot of issues when they oversaturate a node/oversell packages). Cox's Gigablast upload speed is only 35Mbps where as google fiber's upload is 1000Mbps. You need a good upload speed when you're upload a video form your computer to a server online. More recently but around September 2019 the Cox infrastructure has been having a lot of issues with oversaturated nodes. File an FCC complaint it's the only way someone higher up will actually talk to you.
