Cox Security Suite reported that it was expiring in 4 days, reinstalled and still same message. Also, when I try to run a Scan (quick or full) it never starts.

When I try Quick scan, it says,
             "Quick scan is running"
Items scanned: 0
Scanning now:

However, it read 0%, 0 Items scanned and the 0% goes round and round and it never scans.

Help, I've been using Cox for over 20 years and have not had this problem.

I'm running Windows 10 on an HP Envy Desktop i7 processor.

Please help!

The issue with licensing appears from time-to-time in the Forum.  Subscribers will report an issue but won't update us.  I've received this expiration notice but it eventually reconciled with something.

A moderator would need to confirm, but I don't think the license is actually within your software but on a Management Server at Cox.  The license is probably associated to either your Primary User ID, Device ID, account number, etc and when your software checks for updates, the Server sends this message.  You can download all the software you want from Cox, but your license "to use" on the Server won't change.

Perhaps when you get closer to the "expiration" date, Cox has an internal, automated process to re-validate.  All I know is I've received these notices and they've eventually disappeared.

Scan at zero.  Is there a setting to Scan Using Minimal Resources?  Although your HP has plenty of firepower, deselect it.  Is your McAfee set to automatically download and install updates?  Is McAfee getting updates?

  • @Jjfowler, You will want to completely remove the suite from your device and then install a fresh copy from our website. Please be advised that you can only use the Macafee software included with our security suite. -Allan, Cox Support Forums Moderator.
