i went ahead and ordered t mobile 5g home internet, their low end typical rates are already higher than what i have 90% of the time w/ cox. I gave them like 3-4 months to sort this out and they seem not to really care. My new bill is going to be $60 which is half what Cox was charging me. I stream with someone who uses this service and their lowest offered speeds and he never has any issues unless there is some sort of natural disaster, but the cable goes down then anyway. I'm looking forward to not having to constantly worry if my speeds will be sufficient to stream. Shouldn't need to have that worry paying what i do.
Sounds like we are all on the same page. I have been on this venting 4 times as well. I have also went ahead with T-Mobile it can’t get any worse, I have used it for backup and has worked due to Cox being so unreliable. But being down for 5 days is a new low for even Cox. Rather be slower and running vs this joke of a service. This is not just playing video games its costing me my living

I work from home, and the internet works decent enough for downloading things, but my twitch stream actually generates me revenue, and I haven't been able to for multiple days now. Not being consistent when you're growing like my channel is at the moment can really cause you to lose your momentum. Anything is better than this. Not to mention I'm getting packet loss as well.
It's incredibly silly to have 2mb upload while paying over $100 month for gigabit internet. I'm done being a sucker. Just randomly did a speed test on my phone's 5G, I get better speeds from that than I do from my Cox "service".
This is all because Cox refuses to address their oversaturated nodes and split them. It's just disrespectful to their customers. Funny enough, the guy I talked to on the phone about if fiber was in my area said "Looks like cox has a monopoly out there".

Hi Flambeau,
I'm sorry to hear you're looking to switch providers. We'd like to further investigate the speed and packet loss issues you're experiencing. Please feel free to email us at cox.help@cox.com for assistance.
Thank you.

I've done this so many times, it never works out. The connection is simply inconsistent with no improvement in sight. I already swapped, my cell phone hotspot can provide me better internet than the gigabit service. I'm exhausted going back and forth about it.
