Change Panoramic wi fi name

OK, I see. You want to change the SSID on the gateway to the one that was on your mesh system so your devices connect to it instead of your mesh. You can do that if you want, either via the app or signing into the gateway via 192.168.0.1, but like you said, then you need to use the Panoramic app to control and configure your network, not the Netgear app.
There are two problems, one is technical and one is more red tape. The technical part is I think the boxes require something special about the connection between the boxes, the gateway, and Cox. Some say it has to do with the MoCA ability of the gateway, but MoCA is coax, so the wifi connection between the box and gateway shouldn't have anything to do with MoCa. However for some strange reason, the gateway will only allow MoCA if you have wireless boxes so there must be some connection. I know some people have gotten around the issue by using ethernet to connect their retail router to the boxes. This makes me think the issue is something to do with the wifi connection. Not sure if the gateway puts out some hidden SSID that the boxes need to connect or something else. The second problem is the gateway needs to be on the account so the account is assigned specific codes and provisioned a certian way on the account for the service to work. Another words even if you could get it to work technically with your mesh system, you would still need to keep and pay for the gateway on your account. This is really only a issue though if you pay monthly for the gateway.
Another option would be to not use Cox TV service and switch to some kind of streaming service like YTTV. If you are data only, you can use your own modem, which would not only solve the problem, but save you money too.
