Cannot visit my own website on Cox wifi

Hi everyone,

I'm experiencing an issue where my website won't open when I'm connected to Cox WiFi. I've tried accessing it through different devices on same wifi, but the site is blocked with a message like "The site could be risky; advanced security has blocked access." The site loads fine on my mobile data through Verizon, so it seems to be specific to Cox.

Has anyone else faced this issue? If so, what measures did you take to resolve it? Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  1. Checked my website’s SSL certificate and confirmed it’s valid.
  2. Ran a malware scan using online tools, and everything came back clean.
  3. Cleared my browser cache and cookies, and tried different browsers.
  4. Reached out to Cox support but am still troubleshooting, but they will blame my server. I checked with my hosting support everything is good.

Any advice or specific steps that helped you resolve similar issues would be appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help.

Try disabling Cox Advanced Security. See here.

FYI, if you are technical enough to make your own website, you are probably technical enough to use your own router. Might be time to upgrade. ISP gateways are generally bad.
