I'm back. I sorry. You all have been vey informative and patient. Darkatt, I did as you said. And when my email account returned, nothing had changed. I still can't send email. When I try, two things happen: the email immediately moves to the Outbox. Then I get a prompt saying I have to enter the password for an account. Previously the account was "jXXXXn@cox.net." User/password couldn't be verified. Now it's cannot connect to account "Cox." I have created a Gmail account and, to be truthful, I'm ready to just make that the one. Of course, that means notifying not only my personal contacts but also numerous institutional sites--bank, credit cards, medical providers and who knows what else.
