Arris TG1862G Port Forwarding

Hello and thank you in advance for reading this post. But how can I achieve Port forwarding need to open two ports for a router RT-N56u that is connected to this modem? any help will be appreciated

  • Hello, What ports are you attempting to open on your router?
  • I was trying to open 8082 and 443, which according to the instructions are needed to for AIcloud "asus". But I came across another problem. The TG1862 is not allowing the RTn56u get internet.

Note that the TG1682 is supposed to replace your Asus router. You'll need to open the ports on the TG1682 and remove the Asus to accomplish any port forwarding.

  • I understand, but I'm trying to piggyback the RT to be used for Cloud connectivity, and since the TG1682 does have USB's they are blocked from use from COX. So currently I have an overpriced paperweight. But thank you for the info

Get rid of the gateway and buy a stand alone modem. SB6183 and Netgear CM500 is best and then have your phone provisioned to what ever modem they give you for phone for free.

  • Excuse the newbie question. But when you refer to Gateway which one are you talking about exactly.

The Arris TG1862G is the gateway being referred to modem/router combo.
