Actual Email from Cox, or SPAM?

ust got this email today with the following message

"During our regularly scheduled system maintenance and verification procedure we have detected a slight error.

Please verify your information in order to keep your account active, in the following link:

cox.net.34643.space/324811231

PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL AS IT IS AUTOMATICALLY GENERATED
Sincerely, COX.NET."

Not sure if real. I suspect it's another one of those Scam/Spam/Trojan Horses kind of thing. Thought I should report it here.

Your suspicion is correct.  Besides the grammatical errors, I've never heard of "slight errors" with logon credentials.

It could be a malware risk but I suspect an attempt to collect your "verified" information.

    Whisperor,

We would like to look into this for you. Would you send us an email to cox.help@cox.com with your name, full address & the four digit PIN on the account? We want to verify this on your account.

since cox can't seem to catch it's own spam (purportedly) maybe they need a page where all the latest ones are posted for us to check. i've had 2 different ones, one of them sent twice, in the last 3 days i finally called.

NO i did not log in from guyana!

i know return emails can be spoofed, but when it's some random person like "ken78@cox.net" liikely it's spam.

i did get a legitimate one about a change i made and another way to tell is...the real ones are very unslick?? not even paragraphs!
